Evans Easyspace Secures Stockport Borough Council Contract

Evans Easyspace have been appointed new managing agents for Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council’s Managed Workspace portfolio.

Tim Frith, Business Development Manager at Evans Easyspace, says: “We are delighted to be working with Stockport Council and this represents an exciting development in our business strategy. Over the last 10 years we have established a reputation as the market leader in the provision of new, high quality, small serviced offices and managed workshop units, building up our own portfolio of 54 centres around the UK, totalling just over 2,000,000 sq ft.

“However, we are now actively looking to work in partnership with building owners, in both public and private sectors, utilising our expertise and knowledge to ensure that any serviced offices or managed workshop units are run as efficiently as possible, providing a stimulating, supportive environment in which clients can set up and grow their businesses.”

Tim believes that despite the prevailing economic conditions there is strong demand for small amounts of space, available on easy in, easy out terms, with the additional benefit of strong business support links and cutting edge technology. It was the combination of these features that proved appealing to Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.

The Council’s Managed Workspace Portfolio currently comprises:

Houldsworth Mill Business & Arts Centre, Houldsworth Mill, Reddish, Stockport

A Grade 2* listed mill that was comprehensively refurbished during the 1990s to provide commercial and residential accommodation. The 62,400 sq ft managed workspace facility has proved very successful on attracting small businesses, including start-ups.

74 office units ranging from 100 sq ft to 2,000 sq ft provide a high quality environment for new or growing businesses ranging from small technology based firms to creative and cultural enterprises. It also provides fully equipped on–site conference facilities and free on site parking

Merchants House, Market Place, Stockport

Located off the historic Market Place in the town centre, Merchants House is 2,600 sq ft offering 10 business units and is owned by Stockport Council

Stockport Business Incubator, Broadstone Mill, Reddish, Stockport

The Business Incubator is an innovative partnership between Stockport Council, Broadstone Mill Ltd and the University of Manchester Incubator Company. Aimed specifically at start-up, high growth knowledge sector companies, cutting edge technology is offered on site, along with specialised business support services and free on site parking

The Incubator is located on the 3rd floor of Broadstone Mill, and expanded significantly in January this year. The 39,000 sq ft facility has a total of 48 office units.
