Green office refurbishment investment fund raises £100m for UK commercial premises

An investment fund launched 18 months ago to support the green refurbishment of UK commercial properties has raised over £100 million.

The partnership, which seeks to improve existing UK workspace to best practice green standards, is known as the Threadneedle Low Carbon Workplace Trust (LCW) and already has four properties under its umbrella located in Twickenham, Hammersmith, Wimbledon and Guildford.

LCW has committed to spending as much as £42.5 million in a bid to improve the energy efficiency of its existing property portfolio. This kind of scheme could be a taste things to come with commercial properties requiring energy efficiency overhauls by 2018.
