Commercial property consultants cite short supply of serviced office space in London

26th January 2012
A new report into the availability of serviced office space in London suggests many SMEs looking to move into new business centres in 2012 will be frustrated at a short supply of commercial property within the capital.

The recent analysis of demand for serviced office space in London was undertaken by commercial property consultants, Jones Lang LaSalle, who found that demand is significantly outstripping the supply of office space to rent.

The shortfall of serviced office space in certain parts of the capital has been attributed to greater-than-expected demand and a lack of investment in the development of new commercial centres - largely due to the uncertainty of the nation's economy.

This latest report adds weight to Prime Minister David Cameron's aim of allowing UK SMEs and entrepreneurs to use vacant government premises to grow and expand.
