UK property sector showing signs of recovery

The UK’s commercial property sector is regaining popularity among property investors, according to research by the Association of Investment Companies (AIC).

The investment trust trade body believes a combination of attractive yields and strong discount movements from landlords has increased the commercial property sector’s popularity among investors.

Yields for the commercial property sector are currently averaging 6.3 percent and returns are up 23 percent over the last three years to the end of September 2011.

Richard Kirby, manager of the F&C Commercial Property Trust, said: "There has been two years of sustained growth following a severe downturn [in the property market].
