Space location and map
Cwmbran, Wales’ first new town created under the New Town Act of 1946, was designated as such in 1949 and construction began in 1951. With a population in excess of 47,000m, it is the biggest centre of population and commerce in the Torfaen region. The town is now home to the headquarters of both Torfaen Council and Monmouthshire County Council. Cwmbran town centre was upgraded in the mid-nineties and it attracts shoppers from a catchment area of 220,000 people living within 15 minutes drive. Cwmbran is linked to Newport and the M4 Motorway to the south via the A4042 and A4051 dual carriageways. The town is located
within 4 miles of junction 26 of the M4 and Cardiff lies less than 10 miles to the south. Cwmbran has an established and significant industrial base with a number of estates including Springvale Industrial Estate, Llanternam Industrial Park an Avondale Industrial Estate. Court Road Industrial Estate is located towards the western fringe of Cwmbran close to the A4042. It therefore has reasonably good access from the major road network. The site is bordered by a railway line with Cwmbran Brook and recreation ground to the east and further industrial units to the north, south and west.
